Middle Leaders - Raising Achievement

Co-created by Fiona Madill and Chris Jansen of the Leadership Lab and Idea Creation, Christchurch, the purpose of this middle leaders course is to raise achievement among students and build middle-leadership capability in the top of the south.

 

These six sessions will explore:

  • Growing your leadership capability to foster engagement and lead cultural change across your organisation;

  • The nature of complex human and organisational behaviour;

  • Running effective meetings;

  • Using data and research to inform practice;

  • Completing a leadership inquiry;

  • Developing a professional learning group (PLG);

  • Peer and instructional coaching;

  • Observational skills and tough conversations;

  • A 'living classroom' tour of local schools.

 

Guest presenters, including Chris Jansen and Jan Robertson, will provide exceptional professional development, while you will gain support from regular PLG group sessions in terms 1 and 2.

 

 

Each participant will develop a leadership inquiry to be presented in the last two sessions in term 3.

THIS COURSE IS LIMITED TO APPROX. 30 PARTICIPANTS, AND IS PREFERRED FOR ALL TEAM LEADERS WITHIN A SCHOOL TO ATTEND THUS ENSURING MAXIMUM PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO OCCUR IN LEADING SUSTAINABLE CHANGE IN YOUR SCHOOL. INDIVIDUALS WILL BE CONSIDERED IF SPACES ARE AVAILABLE.
